If Mermaids Wore Jewelry…

… they’d wear Hinu Jewelry. This year’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and the upcoming issue of Life and Style both feature work by jewelry designer Jennifer Binney, who was born and raised in Hawaii. I love this oddly minimalist take on a nature-inspired look. The shapes are bold, simple, and best of all, really affordable considering the pieces are all made with real metals and stones.
Top left, cowrie shell ring, $230. Top right, black pearl bangle, $210. Bottom right, tavarua clam shell necklace, $350. Bottom left, four puka drop earring, $250.

It’s all beautiful and just right in it’s simplicity.

I waaant the pearls. Each one is a different size and shape and color. No more ‘old lady’ pearls all strung together with each pearl identical to the one next to it or opposite it. This is the real world of pearls, a handful scooped up from the bottom of the sea. Forget Spring. I’m ready for Summer.
