Know any new or expectant moms out there (or maybe one yourself)??  Here are some great gift ideas for Mother’s Day (or some nifty products for you!):

mustela Mustela:  This line has gotten a lot of buzz for its celebrity baby clientele.  Here’s what the company says!:

The Mustela brand, created over 55 years ago, continues to develop dermo-cosmetic products to address the specific needs of the delicate skin of newborns, babies, children and expectant mothers.”

Here’s what I say!!  I bought the Mustela 9 Month Maternity Stretch Marks Double Action cream for my sister-in-law last year, and she loved it!!  She has since tried the Specific Support Bust cream and Instant Comfort Legs cream, and she really liked them both too.   Mustela sells neat (and affordable!) gift sets online too, which would work great for Mother’s Day ($31-$35).

mamamio Mama Mio:  The “deluxe skincare for supermamas” line has products specially designed for pregnant women and the…

Amazing new mama! Tiny fingers, tiny toes; how clever of you to make such perfection! Don’t forget about taking care of yourself in the midst of the madness (happy mama = happy baby).”

I liked the idea behind this one:  “You’re Amazing! New Mama Kit” ($49), which comes with a Gravida Candle (containing 10 pregnancy-specific essential oils), super-rich body cream, and a white cap for the new baby that is made using NASA-temperature regulating fabric “to keep the baby the perfect degree of warm.”  (how does that work??)  You can also get free “Preggo Pops” samples with each order while supplies last.

belli Belli Motherhood:  This line has specialty creams and lotions for the new mom:

As your body recovers from childbirth, Belli Motherhood helps ease the transition into healthy, preventative, long-term skin care routines. So you can feel and look like you again.”

For its Mother’s Day promotion, you get a free Eye Brightening Cream (free of artificial dyes and parabens) with every $100 purchase (use code: EYEBRIGHT).

Flab-Busting Beauty

 cellulite

I just read a definition of what cellulite really is, and I was grossed out:

Cellulite is a symptom of skin deterioration-the result when previously healthy, elastic connective tissue between the skin and the muscle layer becomes rigid (think of an old rubber band that’s been sitting in a drawer for ten years), creating that recognizable dimpled or quilted effect.”

Ewww. Okay, so even the most well-kept bodies out there suffer from the cellulite curse. (Tom Cruise?!) I know there are a million different firming creams and patches that claim to battle the bulge, but I’ve found a few products that, when used in conjunction with these lotions, are pretty great in helping to fight the good fight!

blissslimulator Bliss Slimulator ($22): The little nubs “help stimulate microcirculation,” and the massaging action “helps move trapped toxins and fluids associated with cellulite,” according to Bliss. I have had mine for a couple of years now, and I can feel a difference every time I use it. It definitely helps get circulation going!
muradcelluliteMurad’s Cellulite Solution Firm and Tone Dietary Supplement Pack ($135 for a 4-week supply) : Okay, so the price is not exactly right for your budget, I know. I have not actually tried the supplements, but a very dear friend of mine who is as much of a product junkie as I am (if not more!), sings the praises of Murad’s pills all the time. She’s noticed a huge difference using their whole “Cellulite Solution” philosophy, but apparently these multivitamins are essential to the skin-firming experience.
blisssoap Cellulite Soaps: Bliss Serious Seaweed Cellulite Soap ($14 each) & Korres Guarana Anti-Cellulite Soap ($9.00) : Get clean and fight flab at the same time! The Bliss bar’s seaweed helps nourish and bind moisture to skin, while Korres’ soap contains Guarana, the most natural source of caffeine (a proven cellulite-buster). Both soaps help stimulate circulation as well. I’ve tried both-two thumbs up, all around!
